NUKUBATI Island Resort has yet again promoted Fiji in the tourism arena, being named in the Tripadvisor's 2015 Hall of Fame.
And the success has been attributed to the local blending of food, culture and the friendly spirit of not only the staff but surrounding communities of the remote coastal area of Macuata.
Nukubati has also been chosen as the Tripadvisor's Traveler's Choice since 2008.
Owners Peter and Jenny Bourke were proud hoteliers yesterday thanking everyone including their guests for promoting Nukubati on the Tripadvisor's website.
"It's all about the Fijian experience. We sell and promote the services of a five-star resort but with real Fijian experience where we train our staff to always smile and greet guests always," Mrs Bourke said.
"Our guests not only have activities to do but they actually join our staff to catch fish, octopus and seafood from around the island.
"We make them live the Fijian experience and they love it. We only provide local food, we plant our own food and our guests have fallen in love with the food we provide."
The lush vegetation, clear blue waters and serene surroundings have given Nukubati a unique affection of tourism.
Mr Bourke, who has been the brains behind the resort's development, said the environmental approach added to the success.
