Funeral of a young Fijian boy in Melbourne

from w
Yesterday Peceli and I and Sailosi went to Melbourne for the funeral of an eighteen year old Fijian boy. Aminiasi Qalo Junior. Sad story and a brave mother, Makareta,

of a child with MS. Even with such a disability the boy was well loved, was often smling, and was talented at art. The service was at Enjoy Church, one of those churches who reclaim old warehouses to renovate. It was a lolly factory one time someone said. A nice quiet service then we went to Altona North Cemetery which is beautifully kept, tidy, and with so much grass. Afterwards we went to the family home in Carolyn Springs. The driving was rather convoluted without a Melways but we got to each place. We had a delicious Fijian feast and also were able to share stories with many people, mostly with people who I had never met before.
