MEMBERS of the Holy Family Catholic Women's League in Labasa yesterday hosted social worker Selina Lee-Wah to lunch to acknowledge her achievement.
Mrs Lee-Wah was conferred the Order of Fiji for distinguished service of a high degree to humanity at large in the country two months ago by President Ratu Epeli Nailatikau.
Parish assistant priest Father Francis Kolatt said the party was organised to show their appreciation to Mrs Lee-Wah for her achievement.
"Her achievement is something worth celebrating because we are part of it as she is also representing us," Father Kolatt said.
"We are very proud of her and we believe that God is blessing her to help the less fortunate ones in society."
A thankful Mrs Lee-Wah said social work was challenging because she had to work with no financial support.
"But I have pulled through for the past 35 years and my trust in God and his blessings has provided me with the resources that meet the needs of the disadvantaged people in society," she said.
