Balcony scene in Rome

Is this really a balcony scene or has the crowd behind been added?

Okay, they may have been on a balcony. Anyway I wonder what the pope said to Mere. Maybe, 'Bula vinaka Mere! One of my predecessors visited Fiji one time. I wonder if Fiji is still the way the world ought to be eh?'

  1. And now a new Fiji diplomat - ex rugby player - who hails from Taveuni - met the Queen last Friday as Fiji's new High Commissioner. Mr Tikoisuva presented the letters of recall for his predecessor as well as his letters of commission. Tikoisuva and his wife were both received by Her Majesty at Buckingham Palace. This did not mean that the British Government recognised the interim administration. British High Commissioner to Fiji Roger Sykes said the British Government recognised Fiji but not the interim administration.

This reminds me of a story from Labasa. Chare, who came from Dogotuki area, was a great storyteller and he was always invited when Ratu Peniaia or Ratu Kadavulevu visited Labasa to entertain the visitors. One story was about a soldier who was presented to Queen Elizabeth. (Now you might need to know a bit of Hindi and Fijian to get the joke - 'patipati' is an outboard, and 'gir jau' - in Hindi means 'to drown.')

    Okay here's the conversation.
Queen: Bula sia sotia! How's your patipati?
    Soldier: My patipati gir jau!
Queen: Sobosobo sotia, that is very unfortunate!
